With less than 100 days to Christmas to go, time to check in on Top 10 organisation tips for home and office.

  • While thinking about your home and/or office space what is the most important thing you want your people to feel about this environment?  Once identified hold on to this idea as this is your starting point. and then next
  • Create – To Do List or even a Today only list, whichever works best for you.  You may find that once you are in habit of creating a Today list daily, it becomes part of your routine like brushing your teeth.  Now choose one thing from that list and do it now, and then the next item on the list until voila; look your list is completed.
  • Design tasks for every person in your group to complete on a regular basis for most effectiveness and organise a time to check in with each other to see if everything is how it should be.  Provide the space and time for everyone involved to offer their feedback on how to do things better.
  • Keep your spaces clean and clear and if this task seems overwhelming, start with one room at a time.  Take everything out of the room, take a good look at and then decide what will stay and what will be passed on to another lucky recipient.
  • Do you have a regular cleaning day/time?  If not, set one and wherever you can stick to this allocated time slot to do your routine clean.
  • Prepare for tomorrow today and see what an incredible difference this makes in your overall performance.
  • A visual schedule, do you know that once written, it is 10,000.00 times more likely to occur.  Create a visual schedule and display for all to see.
  • Do you remember a time when shops were not open 24/7 and with this in mind save yourself some time and energy by sticking to a weekly shop as much as you can.
  • Make mornings work for you – allow time for yourself in the morning before the usual busy bustle begins.  Perhaps you can begin your day first with a refreshing shower, offering thanks for the glorious new day and while showering say to yourself and out loud if you wish “I wash away all my cares and worries”  Speaking from experience, this is an amazing experience and I encourage you to find your very own best way to begin each new morning.
  • Last and certainly not least, keep it fun and always be kind to yourself for all of your efforts.  Finish each job that you begin and when completed, gift yourself with a reward, small or big, for your great results.
  •  And remember at the beginning where you identified exactly what it is that you are setting out to create, each of these actions will take you closer to achieving that desired organised mind, space and time.
